New rim needed?
« on: 24, June, 2017, 05:16:40 PM »
I had my rear wheel rebuilt about 6 weeks ago when the hub needed replacing (in Cycle superstore in Tallaght).
About 3 weeks ago I broke 2 spokes on a spin in Carrick, both at the nipple.
Brought the wheel back and they replaced the spokes and retrued the wheel.
This morning on the club intro spin I broke another spoke, again at the nipple.
Anyone have any ideas? New rim, or get it repaired again?

Have you been eating a lot of pies?

Poor original rebuild? That shouldn't be happening. Probably over stressed the rest now and they'll keep going (this happened to me on a road bike until I got the whole wheel rebuilt.

Go to Expert Cycles and get it rebuilt there. Sounds like it badly built and rebuilt

Cheers lads. Is it OK to ride on just for one spin? Supposed to be heading up North for a spin with some mates in the morning and don't want to miss it if possible...
