Over enthusiastic Newbie
« on: 05, October, 2021, 06:46:05 AM »
Hi folks. I’ve just joined after an intro spin a few months ago and ditching my entry level Marin hard tail for a Specialized e mtb My first ever full suspension. And first cheating bike :)

I’m keen to learn new trails around ticknock and locality. I’ve just tentatively started reds in GAP and haven’t died yet. Ticknock Red and black coilltes are fine for me.

Hoping to hear there’s an opp to learn from you lot and join some rides.

Welcome to the club John.

Yeah there are so many trails around ticknock area I'm sure you find some new ones. Few nice trails in Cruagh round the corner too.

I'm sure if you post up a spin or two someone will join you.

Welcome to the club John,

I swear when I first saw your forum name I read too old for tits!! and I thought, umm how inappropriate is that, you're never too old for that kind of thing!  ;)
Anyways see you in the trails and enjoy that EB, no cheating just more range.

Welcome to the club John!

Rocking an emtb too, my only full sus.
Loving it though, as I didn't have the time to build back my old level of climbing fitness, or an eternity for recovering after spins.... yep, too old for this :)

Still the ebike brings some new challenges,  23kg bike on descents for one... but fun having that with no penalty on climbs.
Did have to concentrate on a little upper body fitness as at times found I needed to throw it around on descents..
I'm wafflin now...

See you on the trails
Graham

Thanks guys. I went for a very light e bike. I think it’s only 18kg - so hopefully best of both worlds. I’m deffo having to contribute to the climbs but can throw it around (and me ) on the fun descents. Hope to get to meet some of ye soon.
